Here is a close up of the vending machine. If you look really closely you can see the old Sprite logo, which is very different than it is today.
This is an old vending machine out in rural Virginia.
This is an old wall that I saw on the campus of UVA.
This is a picture I took in Charlottesville, Virginia. There was a small parking lot that had the big wall you can see in the background. Up against the wall were lots of old theater chairs. I thought it was cool so I took a picture.
This is the gate to the huge field with the lake behind it.
I'm taking Creative Writing this semester, and for my independent project I chose to research photojournalism. For the project I decieded to take pictures of the rural south, which is why I named it The Rustic Rural South. I took some of these pictures in Virginia and some in North Carolina. The ones from Virginia were taken near Gum Springs and Charlottesville. The pictures from North Carolina were taken near Rougemont and Roxboro. There are a couple that might look weird, but that's because they were taken while I was moving. My favorite of all the pictures is the picture of the old theatre chairs against a brick wall. I hope you enjoy them!
